Château de Clermont

16th century Renaissance residence, a rare example of Italian influences on Savoyard architecture. The visit, free or guided, invites you to discover the history of this site from the Middle Ages to the present day. Shows are offered during the summer.

The Château de Clermont, listed as a historical monument, is one of the rare examples of Renaissance architecture in the former Duchy of Savoy. In the 16th century, Monseigneur Gallois Regard, after a great career in Rome, had this pleasure residence built with a monumental façade and interior galleries. Above, on the hill, a first medieval castle, now disappeared, is the subject of archaeological excavations.
