The Les lumières de la Ville cinema is offering the screening of two films from those selected as part of the Annecy departmental animated film tour: "Amélie and the Metaphysics of Tubes" and "Marcel and Monsieur Pagnol"
Amélie and the Metaphysics of Tubes
Directors: Maïlys Vallade, Liane-Cho Han (2025 / Feature film)
Synopsis: Amélie is a little Belgian girl born in Japan. Thanks to her friend Nishio-san, the world is full of adventures and discoveries. But on her third birthday, an event changes the course of her life. Because at that age, for Amélie, everything is at stake: happiness and tragedy alike.
Amélie and the Metaphysics of Tubes is adapted from the novel by Amélie Nothomb.
Marcel and Monsieur Pagnol
Director: Sylvain Chomet (2025 / Feature Film Competition)
Synopsis: At the height of his fame, Marcel Pagnol receives a commission for a literary serial in which he can recount his childhood and his Provence. As he writes, the little Marcel he once was appears to him, reviving his memories: the arrival of talking pictures, his first major studio, his attachment to actors, the experience of writing... The great storyteller then becomes the hero of his own story.
