9h00: gentle heritage

After a good night's sleep in one of the seven guest houses Rumilly-Albanais, and a solid breakfast, a smooth start to the day! Direction the old manRumilly to stroll in the cool in the alleys of this old stronghold of Savoy. Admire its beautiful Renaissance mansions with their arcades, the wheat market, testimony to the rich agricultural past of the Albanian capital, the alms chapel or againSaint-Agathe church and its XNUMXth century bell tower. During the visit, push the door of one of its well-stocked stalls to compose your lunch picnic with local products. Thursdays and Saturdays being market days, you will find on the stalls of small local producers, treasures of Savoyard gastronomy.

10:30 am: country walk to the ponds

Nature reserve classified Natura 2000, the Ponds of Crosagny are part of the Sensitive Natural Areas of Haute-Savoie, with abundant and protected biodiversity.
Take the nature trail lined with explanatory panels, and take a few minutes to zoom in, from the ornithological observatory, on the many birds that nest in this exceptional wetland. In summer, you may be lucky enough to spot the Little Bittern. The smallest heron in Europe is particularly fond of pond reed beds.

Unusual and ecological: you can get to this site on foot and accompanied by a… lama held in tether. Incredible how this little camelid stimulates children who would be reluctant to move forward!

12:30 p.m .: picnic with your feet in the water

See you at the leisure centre de Rumilly for a country picnic. The ideal place to perk up after the morning visits. Cheeses, cold meats, raw vegetables and other fruits from the Pays de Savoie will have even more flavors!
Swimming galore, but also Moutain Biking, classic or electric, fishing, children's games, arboretum with orientation table… You are ready for the rest of the program!

14:30 p.m .: unusual escape to the Gardens

The Secret Gardens constitute a place like no other, which recently celebrated the 20th anniversary of its opening to the public. Its creators, Nicole and Alain Moumen, have transformed a Savoyard farm into a veritable palace with lush vegetation and Mediterranean accents. Stroll through its 7000 m² of interior and exterior spaces, sculpted, fitted out and decorated by the masters of the place. Let yourself be carried away by the chirping of birds and the murmur of the gushing water from the many fountains. If you are with your family, the Jardins team organizes games around the five senses. Don't leave without trying Alain's snack: delicious oriental donuts, accompanied by mint tea.

17:30 p.m .: dizzying discovery

Built in 1887, the Abyss Bridge, a metal suspension bridge dominates the Chéran, a torrent which bubbles up almost 100 meters below!
This work, installed on a classified site, links Cusy to Gruffy. It is the starting point for many hikes. Since La Fruitière du Semnoz is just a stone's throw away, it's time to buy cheese and local products if you haven't already.

19:00 p.m .: dinner on the square

Village médiévale d'Alby-sur-Chéran

Last essential step and out of time, Alby-sur-Cheran. Take a seat in the pretty triangular medieval square of the Trophy, for an aperitif and dinner, before hitting the road again. A privileged moment to discover the historical heritage of the city, once known to be the capital of shoemaking: in the 1880s, it had no less than 300 shoemakers!
